Tetra Laval Appoints Monica Gimre President and CEO of SIDEL

The Board of Directors of the Tetra Laval Group has appointed Ms. Monica Gimre, President and CEO of the Sidel Group, effective July 1, 2019.

This appointment follows Mr Sam Strömerstén’s decision to leave his position after more than three years as President and CEO and 36 years with the Tetra Laval Group.

Monica Gimre is currently Executive Vice President Processing Solutions & Equipment at Tetra Pak. Prior to her current position, she held several leadership positions within the Group, including Vice President of Marketing and Portfolio Management and Vice President of Sales and Technical Services for Tetra Pak’s transformation activities.

Ms. Gimre is 58 years old and holds a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lund, Sweden. She joined Tetra Pak’s global management team in 2016.

Responsible for a team of 5,300 employees

The new President will be responsible for a team of approximately 5,300 employees within the Sidel Group.

The Sidel Group is a leading supplier of machinery and complete solutions for the packaging industry. The focus is on filling and packaging beverages and food from glass, cans and PET. The group also has market shares in household and personal care products.

The reported annual turnover is around 1.4 billion euros. This makes Sidel the world’s second largest supplier of machines and complete packaging lines in its niche market.
