Saudi Film Permit Expands GACA-Certified Drone Filming Services Across the Kingdom

Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia — Saudi Film Permit, a full-service filming and photography permit facilitator, today announced the expansion of its GACA-certified drone filming services to support the growing number of productions seeking aerial footage of Saudi Arabia’s deserts, coastlines, mountains, and cityscapes.

Aerial filming in Saudi Arabia is tightly regulated by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and unauthorized drone use can result in significant delays, fines, or confiscation of equipment. Saudi Film Permit says its drone division was built specifically to remove that risk, pairing certified pilots with a permit process that runs in parallel with a production’s ground-based filming approvals.

“Aerial shots are often the difference between a good production and a standout one, but drone regulations here are strict for good reason,” a company spokesperson said. “We make sure every flight is fully compliant before a single rotor turns, so productions get the footage they need without the risk.”

What the Service Includes

GACA-certified pilots and equipment, cleared to operate across all major filming regions in the Kingdom
Combined permit processing, with drone approvals coordinated alongside standard filming and GCAM permits rather than as a separate process
National coverage, supporting aerial filming in Riyadh, Jeddah, Mecca, Medina, Dammam, Al Khobar, Abha, AlUla, Al Ahsa, and Taif
Equipment and logistics support, including customs clearance for drone hardware brought in by visiting productions
The expansion builds on Saudi Film Permit’s existing role as the licensed local partner required for international productions filming in Saudi Arabia, extending that same compliance-first approach to aerial work.
