A Practical Tarpaulin RFQ Checklist for Construction and Logistics Buyers
Tarpaulins look simple, but an incomplete request for quotation can produce the wrong material, weight, finish or dimensions. Construction and logistics buyers can reduce avoidable revisions by defining the application before comparing prices.
1. State the operating environment
Explain whether the cover will be used outdoors, on a truck, over building materials, for temporary storage or as a groundsheet. Include expected exposure to sunlight, rain, wind, abrasion and repeated handling. The same sheet specification may perform very differently when it is fixed in place versus folded and moved every day.
2. Choose the material family
PE and HDPE tarpaulins are commonly considered for lightweight waterproof covers, temporary protection and general handling. 3. Define weight and finished size

4. Describe reinforcement and fixing points

5. Confirm color and surface requirements
